James is a skinny boy that is very adventurous. He has short blonde hair, and pale skin. He always wears a white t-shirt, brown shorts and black sneakers. James gets scared in the book. He is annoyed of his two aunts that always call him names like, you nasty little beast, and you miserable creature. James is an orphan. When he lived near the beach with his parents he had lots of fun with the other children.
